Course Overview

Reliability Centered Maintenance Principles is a key foundational element of a Reliability Based Maintenance program. This 2-day course covers all important aspects of Reliability Centered Maintenance analysis and implementation. Participants will learn how to effectively participate in an RCM program and have all necessary information to support such an implementation

Learning Objectives

As a result of completing the Reliability Centered Maintenance Principles training, participants will have the ability to:

  • Understand the terms reliability and availability and how they are used
  • Understand preventive maintenance strategies and how they can be applied
  • Understand risk/ condition based maintenance strategies
  • Identify the steps involved in developing an equipment strategy
  • Provide participants with an understanding of the history and purpose of RCM
  • Describe the principles of RCM
  • Contribute to each step, particularly: Applying RCM techniques as appropriate to the equipment
  • Identifying equipment functions and failure modes
  • Selecting recommended maintenance tasks
  • Identifying additional improvement tasks
